Beauty and Fashion Magazine Favs!

Hi Beauties!

My favorite pass-time activity, especially when my shows are on hiatus, is to flip through my favorite magazines! Subscribing to magazines is fun, I feel like I am receiving a present every month in the mail. I usually like to subscribe to magazines instead of picking them up at the check out line because it is honestly so much cheaper! Issues that cost $4-5 at the stores would only come out to be $2 when you subscribe. I don't have to feel bad anymore if I don't get to read them cover to cover of every month.

Subscriptions can also be a regret if the magazines are bogus month to month. I get so many beauty and fashion inspirations from magazines but I want to share with you my two favorite subscriptions that I think are worth subscribing to for your beauty and fashion insider....

I have held a subscription to pretty much everything at one point or another, but I find that Glamour and Allure are the best magazines out there if you are into beauty and fashion. Both are different with their content and have everything a women would ever need.

In my opinion, Allure is more beauty driven (I mean duh, the cover says "The Beauty Expert"), so if you are a makeup junkie, this should be your first choice!

Glamour is fashion, beauty, and a dash of everything. I know what you are thinking. "Fashion? Why not Vogue?" In my opinion, Glamour is practical for the everyday gal. Vogue has gorgeous fashion to stare at but I would probably never wear anything in there in my plain jane life.

♥How do I get the perfect eyebrow shape?
Usually your eyebrow beautician will know the perfect shape for your face and you can simply talk about it with them. However if you are tweezing on your own, ensure that the highest point of the arch falls at the outer third of the eye as you go towards the ears. The brow should follow the natural curve of the eye, beginning at the corner and not overextending into the temple. Good brows can act as a natural facelift!

♥When is the best time to pluck my eyebrows?
After the shower when the skin is more supple and the pore have been opened. Avoid tweezing during the week before your period when your skin is more sensitive.

18th Century Garden!

Hi Beauties!

Last Saturday, I wandered off (only a few blocks away) to the historical part of Philadelphia. A plus side to starting school again is that I get to have so much our nation's history just walking distance from my apartment. On a stroll to Starbucks, the weather was so beautiful that my friend and I decided to walk a few more blocks before turning back. On our walk we noticed a large gazebo in a small garden on our left. By the entrance there was a sign that said "18th Century Garden" and we knew we had to stop by (& take pictures)! It follows the colonial era-style gardening that was brought over from Europe by the early settlers.

As I was wearing a floral jumpsuit, this run-in was clearly meant to be! I love jumpsuits but this one is my new favorite. I got it on super sale from Forever21.com a few weeks ago. Edgy Vibes With A Colorful Twist!

Hi Beauties! 

This outfit is my take on graphic rocker chic with a colorful twist. Wait...is that even a thing? This is the exact outfit I envisioned when I bought this shirt from Forever21.com a couple weeks ago. I just knew I had to have it and with that crazy BOGO sale they were hosting, there was nothing stopping me.

This shoe and shirt duo can go well with anything black. A black skirt, jogger pants, trousers, or even dark jeans! As you may already know--I love color! It was fun to incorporate color into a look like this through the clutch and shirt while staying true to the edgy vibe.

♥Is there a natural way to treat cracked lips?

I am the laziest person when it comes to applying chapsticks! It is probably due to the reason that I always lose my lip moisturizers. However, mixing a teaspoon of honey with sugar always helps to exfoliate my lips! Just rub the mixture gently over the skin's surface with a toothbrush.

♥Is there a DIY homemade lip balm recipe?

Yes, there is! Make yourself a homemade balm with a teaspoon of honey, tea oil, and a vitamin E capsule! It works magic!

Current Must-Have Accessories!

Fashion trends change year to year! For me, its a thrill, especially to see old fashion trends from the 1900's make their way around to the new millennium!

For the last few summers, we have continuously seen cropped tops, denim shorts, gladiator sandals, and over-sized sunglasses. However, this summer there are new trends that have become my must-haves! Keeping up with the trend can be pretty expensive especially if it is seasonal with no certainty of lasting. I have complied a list of a few current must-have accessories. The best part is that all of these items are super affordable from FOREVER 21! So don't worry, your summer jobs will be able to afford it and your next shopping trip won't break the bank!

1.) Fringe handbags
Fringe in general is pretty famous this summer. Its on shoes, bags, keychains, clothing and so much more! It used to look pretty tacky, but brands are now refacing the concept to make it look more chic than ever.

2.) Flower headbands
They are not only for the music festival fanatics, they are for everyone! Wearing a flower headband on the right outfit can give it the perfect the finishing touch. It's so feminine and flirty!

3.) Bold Clutches
A few summers ago, I totally overlooked it. I was too busy looking for a perfect envelope clutch that I passed this by. But now, I realize that this is the best accessory!

An absolute must! Head chains look good on anyone regardless of your hair type or head size! Treat it like a necklace or a pair of statement earrings.

Just pure love.

6.) Pointed Closed-Toe Flats
Extremely clean, classy, comfortable and can even serve as dupes for your favorite closed-toe heels!

7.) Backpacks
We have been lugging our things in backpacks since our diaper days. However, it is still the cool thing to do! Small leather or unique backpacks are becoming the handbags of today.

8.) Hats
Fedoras have been everyone's must-have since the summer of 2013! When they first came around, I hated the straw style fedoras. However, I am in love now since brands are recreating and reconstructing the fedoras to favor all kinds of hair lengths, color, head size, and shape!
