Kicks and Kimonos!

Hi Fashionistas!

Since fall has arrived (happy fourth day of fall everyone), it is harder to dress chic and glamorous than it was in the summer. On cold, breezy days, a cute pair of shorts and strapped sandals just won't cut it anymore.

This outfit incorporates two of my favorite fall items, my new, heavenly BEARPAW Octavias and my floral kimono! Yes, the kimono is mostly worn in the summer...you know, with a crop top and shorts? I am sure you have seen a picture of that combo somewhere on Instagram at some point. However, I am still going to use and abuse mine this fall. I have wanted a kimono since the day I saw one on a fashion account on Instagram. I bought mine from Mandees for only $10! It was a total steal and is exactly what I was looking for...floral, silky, and colorful!

I threw it over a black tank top (Forever 21 $2) and skinny jeans (PacSun). For the accessories, I wore a black leather/gold necklace (Forever 21 $8) and gold bangles. The best part of the outfit, however, had to be these BEARPAW Octavia shoes (FIND HERE! )! You know how it feels to walk on clouds? I do, now. :)

I have received so many compliments already! Even my mom loved them! Since birth she would not let my sisters or I buy a shoe that was not comfortable believing that it would mess up our joints (thank you momma). She approved these shoes to the max and told my sisters to buy a pair of their own. I totally agree, the interior is surrounded by faux fur on the bottom, sides, and top! That's something you cannot get even with the most expensive shoes. I would definitely consider buying a pair for this fall (comes in three different colors and prints) !

Hope you enjoyed! And thank you BEARPAW for sending me these lovely pair of Octavia HERE. I seriously will treasure these forever!

Tuesday Tips 25: Boost Your Perfume!

Hi Girls!

If you are anything like me, you LOVE sampling and trying new fragrances. If someone (man or woman) walks past me wearing a scent I like, I'm that girl who has to stop and ask them for the name of the fragrance.

On that note, I also like to smell good whenever I go out but it is a huge annoyance when the scent wears off in only an hour. However, there's a trick to help it last longer...

Before applying your perfume, dab a little vaseline on your skin where you are going to spritz. The fragrance will adhere better to the skin and have you smell amazing all night! :)

Goodbye For Now...!

Dear My Fall Fashionistas!

BREAKING NEWS! I wore boots to class a few days ago...say what?! Did summer leave without saying bye to me? Since I never got a proper closure with the best season of the year, I wanted to say "bye" by posting my last shorts/skorts outfit(s).

Two weeks ago, I posted a casual fun outfit with my skorts and today, I want to wrap up my obsession by posting two more outfits to show you the wide range of looks you can get with the same pair of skorts!

1.) All Glitter Everything!

As I said in my "Swinging In Skorts!" post, you can find skorts almost anywhere but I bought this pair from Forever 21 for only $18! I paired them with a glitter shirt from The Limited ($16-20 on sale) and a blue/copper necklace (Macy's $5). The top and the necklace incorporated a nice balance and jazz in my outfit. Together, they took the look to a "formal" level without forcing me to wear a frilly shirt or a huge statement necklace to achieve it.

To finish the look with a bang, I wore my black strapped heels (Marshall's $18) to extenuate my legs and a matching black/gold bow cross body.

2.) All Black Everything!

Whenever a piece of clothing is a huge trend, my friends have a misconception and believe they have to concoct an out-of-the-world outfit to do it justice. Fortunuately, they are clueless and it is not true!

This last outfit is simple, cute, and out-of-the-world effortless! I wore a normal black tank top from Forever 21($2) to create a unicolor outfit so I could incorporate color through my loud multi-colored sandals. I received so many compliments on this outfit because of it's simplicity and on top of that, whenever you wear a fedora, it's just immediately cute! :)

Hopefully by now I have brainwashed (nicely persuade) you all to buy a pair! :)

Tuesday Tips 24: Combat Dull Hair!

Hi Beauties!

The worst part of transitioning into fall is having the dry air suck the moisture and glow out of our skin and hair. Locking in our skin's moisture is pretty easy, as long as we have our trusted body butter. However, locking in our hair's shine can be a whole other story.

Fortunately, with a spare of 15 minutes, you can lock in your hair's shine to fight the dullness!

Mix one part vinegar with four parts carbonated water. Apply this mixture to dry hair and leave on for 15 minutes before you shampoo.

Applying this to your hair every other week will help combat the dullness without becoming a time consuming process.

"I Want To Be The One To Walk In The Sun..."

Hey Fashionistas!

To make a statement while walking down the street, there is nothing more that I like than bold colors and show-stopping prints. Dressing in a one piece patterned clothing, whether it's a maxi dress, jumpsuit, or dress, is one of my favorite looks.

I love this dress that I found from Macy's ($20) last year! It is something that is proper enough to wear to work but chic enough to wear out in the town to a friend's birthday dinner. The itty bitty dress hanging in your closet is not the only dress that can make you feel glamorous. Branch out and purchase a dress like this that will indefinitely flatter your body type and look original.

I actually had a lot of fun putting together this look. For jewelry, I wore gold and blue bracelets from Macy's ( $5 when they had their MyStyle brand), a gold watch (Kate Spade NY), and a light taupe bag with gold detailing (Steve Madden). To stay true to the casual, yet feminine theme, I slipped on my brown wedges from Payless ($17), which seemed to wrap the whole outfit up to perfection.

I hope you enjoyed the post! But on another note, please take a moment of silence to remember the tragedy that struck our nation 13 years ago and to remember all the lives that were lost.... #neverforget

Tuesday Tips 23: Celebrity Chef's Favorite DIY Exfoliator!

Hi Beauties!

Many of you may know who Giada De Laurentiis is. But for those who do not, she is the host of Food Network's daytime cooking show "Giada At Home". Even though I personally cannot cook a proper meal to save my life, I am obsessed with her! She is always so poise, stylish, successful, and even serves as Clairol's celebrity ambassador! With her hectic schedule as a stunning chef, writer, host, and entrepreneur, she still has great DIY tricks up her apron (hahah get it?).

A few weeks ago, I was watching an interview where she was promoting the opening of her new restaurant. During the interview, she also shared some of her favorite skin products and a recipe for an exfoliator. As I was clearly sitting around, doing nothing, I thought I would give it a try.....
Ladies and Gents, I was surprised and highly satisfied!

Ingredients:
1/3 cup Baking Soda
1/4 cup Olive Oil
A Bit of Salt

Mix all the ingredients together until it is a granular plush texture. It's so fun to touch, actually! I used it on my feet and legs to remove all the dead skin cells. Shaving can create a lot of wear and tear on your skin, this scrub will help soften up the skin and open up the ingrown hair pores you may have.

August Favorites!

Hi Be-you-tifuls!

I cannot believe it is already September 8th! School started but I was still in the mindset that summer was going to continue forever.. :(

August was a good month for me. I fell in love with new product. Fell in love again with old products. I thought I would share my August beauty and fashion favorites with you :)

1.) Black Skorts: This was one of those new trends that I latched onto quick! The look of the skort differs from formal shorts and skirts but incorporates the same comfort and class.
ON SALE AT ZARA HERE

2.) Kate Spade New York "Gramercy Grand" Bracelet Watch: I received this for my 19th birthday back in November. However, I have fell in love with it this past month and wore it almost every day in August. It's sleek thin band goes with all looks, formal or casual.

3.) Beauty Blender: The best beauty related purchase in my life. At first I was anti-beauty blender because of the price ($20), but it has been an amazing product and play a large role in a flawless makeup look.

4.) Maybelliene Rocket: I am a mascara junkie and I used to wear this mascara often in the past but I had forgotten about it while I was sampling 90 others. However, thankfully, I just came back to it this past month and have sworn to never cheat on it ever again!

5.) Sock bun: Do I need to even explain? I am obviously obsessed with it as it takes my hair from drab to fab in 2 seconds.

6.) BEARPAW Blossom Wedges: When BEARPAW first shipped these wedges to me, I never imagined that I would be obsessed with them. They are obviously cute shoes but are importantly super lightweight, comfortable, and compliment so many outfits with a pastel touch!

What were your favorites from the month of August? I would love to hear and check out new products :)

Swinging In Skorts!

Hi Beauties!

Throwback Thursday! Look at what fashion statement is back and stunting... skorts! They are trendier and more fashionable than ever, and by "ever," I mean they are not the same pair you wore in second grade. When they hit the stores earlier this past spring, I knew that I needed a pair!

This pair is from Forever 21, I do not remember the price but I know that they were super affordable! Basic black skorts are sold almost everywhere but at different prices. My pair looked exactly like the one that was being sold at Zara at the time, but was fortunately less than half the price!

I wanted to test the skort's versatility and dress them down with a youthful touch since the first instinct is usually to jazz them up (coming soon). I am very happy with the results, it was easier than I had imagined to create a casual, head-turning, and fun look!

For the bulk of the outfit, I tucked my Cat in the Hat tank (Forever 21) into the skorts and accessorized with a pair of red TOMS and a cross-body (Michael Kors $50) to bring out the red in the tank. I kept it simple with the jewelry, adding just a pair of white studs and a silver watch.

I foresee skorts continuing as a trend even when we "fall" into fall, so don't forget to get a pair! Another two outfits with the skorts coming soon! :)

Tuesday Tips 22: Get Rid Of White Deodorant Stains!

Hello Girls!
You know what sucks? White deodorant marks on your dark shirt right before you head out for the day. No matter how carefully I try to put on my shirt, I always end up with white stripes going down the sides of it. However, I have finally found a method to end the madness!

If you know me, you know that I love the hidden talents of a dryer sheet, and one of it's talents is actually getting rid of white deodorant marks! I have tried this method many times and it works amazingly. Simply take a dryer sheet and rub it against the stain gently and in no time (practically 6 seconds) the stain will disappear!

No more last minute outfit changes and to be honest, you should just carry a dryer sheet everywhere...it's a serious beauty weapon!
